A quick browse through a few of my favorite blogs and I skimmed one where someone was remarking about a friend who’d done a painting for them of peas because they loved peas so much.  And I had a thought: how unusual that she loved peas to that degree.  Then I realized she’d written PEARS which made much more sense but made me then think: how sad for peas.  Who would hold in such high regard, the humble pea, to the point that they would rejoice when someone gifted them with a painting of peas?

I will love you, peas.  Yes, I do love pears but I will be much more adoring in the future of your round, green, and gentle beauty.   I wonder if there are any out there who will join me.
