Pink Godey Cards

Posted on Saturday, August 28th, 2010 at 3:49 pm

These little Godey cards were made using:
Digi Sheet 182
Digi Sheet 180

Godey’s 01 Sheet JPG

Madame Delphine’s Charms 09

To create the cards I printed out the Godey Sheet by inserting it into Microsoft Word. I resized the JPG image just a tad and printed on to matte brochure paper. I also printed Digi Sheet 182 and used the tag and little plaque portion of the sheet. The Godey tags were matted on to the tag from Sheet 182. I added a small snippet of the scalloped lace from the Digi sheet to the bottom of the tag to add dimension. A bit of distress ink, ribbon, Madame Delphine Charms (I love those teapots - just darling!), and mat again on to papers on the card backing. Add some charming quotes from Digi Sheet 180, a few buttons and your card is all sent to give to someone special!

Harvest “Scrapling” Cards

Posted on Saturday, August 14th, 2010 at 4:54 pm

“Scraplings” are little art/collage cards that measure 2 1/2 inches wide x 4 1/4 inches long.
The cards are perfect to use on gift packages, gift bags, a charming tie-on or tag, enclosure cards or to share as art. I love making this size because they allow me to use smaller images and use up extra paper or cardstock pieces.

You will want to cut your cardstock strips 8 1/2 inches long by 2 1/2 inches wide and simply score at the 4 1/4 mark. I created the cards using cardstock as the background, added pattern papers, and the following sheets:

Digi Sheet 185

It’s that time of year again…school days…school days…dear old golden rule days! I’m getting ready to head back to school myself and thought this darling school girl would make a wonderful altered collage card.

I used the following images:
Digi Sheet 180,
Digi Sheet 065,
Digi Sheet 119,
and Digi Sheet 168.

Gothic Banner

Posted on Saturday, July 31st, 2010 at 4:46 pm

I created this Gothic Arch Banner using the following images:
K & Company Ancestry Tags
Sheet 129
Hybrid Image – Butterfly 01 JPG
Hybrid Image – Crowns 01 PNG
Digi 066
I traced the Gothic shape on to heavy pattern paper and flipped the shape to look like a pennant. The images were collaged on and distress inks were also added to the edges. The paper arch was then adhered on to cardstock and two eyelets were set at the top for hanging purposes. A little bit of vintage seam binding ribbon tied through the top and a few embellishments.

Vintage & Shabby Altered Tags

Posted on Saturday, July 31st, 2010 at 4:37 pm

I love Sheet 227 which was recently released. The colors are serene, softly muted, and work well with any color palette. I covered shipping tags with various pattern papers that had been torn in strips and distressed with ink. I resized and printed hybrid images Old Book 01 and Old Book 03 and tucked them behind the collage image and trimmed the book image at the top of the tag. Bits of vintage appliqué flowers, seam binding ribbon and buttons were added as embellishments.

Triptych Fold Out

Posted on Saturday, July 17th, 2010 at 2:51 pm

For this project I used a combination of hybrid images and collage sheets. I find the hybrid images very versatile. They can be used for paper and digital projects. The hybrid images used for the background scenes are: French Garden 01, French Garden 02, French Garden 04, and Buttefly 01 PNG.

I printed the images on to a heavy cardstock brochure paper. The background scenes were then cut to the sizes I wished and edges distressed with ink. Bits of old Shakespeare text were added. I selected images from Royalty 17B Sheet and added to the piece. The background panels were mounted to cardstock and trimmed, then applied to black script pattern paper. The panel pieces were added to a strip of black cardstock I had cut into 5 x 5 sections and scored so it would fold. A fan made from folded book text was added to the back of the piece and a stamped crown for finishing touches. Eyelets were set at the sides and seam binding ribbon tied through holes.

I can visualize oodles of projects using these images (bookmarks, cards, mixed media projects etc.) and look forward to creating more art with each.

Sweet & Shabby Pink Card

Posted on Saturday, July 17th, 2010 at 2:41 pm

When I first saw Single06 JPG I couldn’t wait to create something with her! She has just the sweetest face and makes my heart swoon! This card was created using Digi 079, Digi 174, and Backgrounds 02 PNG. The hybrid images are super easy to work with! I printed mine out from a Word document and resized each image in the program. This allows for endless hours of creativity using various sizes of the images. A bit of old book text, plain white tag, buttons, and a prima flower were added for embellishments.
