Bee Creative

By Michelle Talley Using the new Quirky Topper No.1 Somehow it seems to be July… how did this happen?! There are lots of very interesting things a bout July, but nothing that worked with my project this month! I started out with good intentions, I had a plan, but when I actually got my hands on all the lovely papers and the Quirky Topper ATC I ended up with something altogether different. I love when that happens! I’m not sure what directed me, but here it is, a pensive and lovely oddity!

From PaperWhimsy: Quirky Topper No.1 , Art Sheet 009 , Digi Sheet 023 , Goth 003 Other supplies: two large and one small bee embellishments, chain, six crystal flats, Mod Podge, E6000 glue, Verday copper paint and patina, Artisan Powder in black, PanPastel in Bright Green and Raw Umber. Start by painting all the pieces of the Quirky Topper, front and back, and when completely dry apply the Verday patina. I like to dab it with a washcloth to get an even more random color effect. Wehn everything is dry. I took my image from Digi Sheet 023, and ripped a little bit off one side, and used ModPodge to adhere the image, Then I used the “pleated fan” image from Faerie Sheet 023, and layered it at the top of the ATC, and finished with the image from Art Sheet 009. Before it dried completely I used the Artisan Powder and the PanPastel to “grunge” up the papers. I used the E6000 to adhere the top and bottom pieces of the Quirky Topper, the Bees, and the chain. When everything was dry I used the powders to “grunge” up all the accouterments. I also used the E6000 to adhere the crystal flats. And that my friends, is that! Cheers! Michelle
